Vancouver elopement
Mountains falling into the sea. A wild edge minutes from the street.
The city ends. The wild begins immediately.
Vancouver is a city with wilderness pressed against every edge of it. Rainforest trails under cedars older than the country. Headlands where the Pacific comes in grey and enormous. Mountain light that changes by the minute and rewards anyone willing to stand in the weather.
An elopement here starts where the pavement stops. Vows on a coastal path with the ocean below and the wind pulling at your clothes. A forest ceremony in green half light. A cabin in the British Columbia woods, the kind of place where the silence has weight, for the night before and the morning after.
I have crossed Canada to its western edge more than once, camera in hand, and the British Columbia coast is one of the places that keeps calling me back. The scale of it does something to a wedding day. It makes the two of you feel small in the best way, and your vows feel enormous.
I am Yanick Lesperance, elopement photographer and filmmaker based in Eastern Canada who follows couples wherever their hearts point. In British Columbia I photograph and I film, and I guide you to the headlands and forests worth your day. You get me. Nothing less. Nobody else.

FAQ
Questions about eloping in Vancouver and British Columbia
Where near Vancouver can we elope?
On coastal headlands and beaches along Howe Sound and the Sea to Sky, in rainforest parks under old cedars, on the Gulf Islands, or further out on Vancouver Island and the Sunshine Coast. The wild starts minutes from the city.
What about the rain in Vancouver?
Rain is part of the coast truth. It makes the forest glow and the sea turn steel. We plan around the light, keep the day flexible, and let the weather write its half of the story. It has never ruined one.
What is the best season for a Vancouver elopement?
May to October for the driest trails and the longest light. Winter brings storm watching season on the outer coast, which is its own kind of ceremony.
Can we marry legally in British Columbia?
Yes. A British Columbia marriage licence and a registered marriage commissioner or officiant can marry you almost anywhere in the province. I will point you to the right people.
Do you travel to British Columbia for elopements?
Gladly. I am based in Eastern Canada and I document elopements across the whole country. The West Coast is one of the places I cross the continent for, every time it calls.
